Welcome!
LinRadiant is in fact NetRadiant integrated into a new package
that has an improved build system and some useful stuff added. If you are wondering
why I found it necessary to create this package, please, read my
rationale.
LinRadiant is free software, for the terms of its distribution and usage
see the license note.
This version of the Radiant editor is for use under Linux and Windows. The
build system does not support MacOS by intention. I have never been interested
in that system and have no experience about how to build softaware for it.
I am sorry, but that's how it is.
The package contains the full source code of the editor, its modules and
plugins, as well as the sources of map compiling tools for the Quake series
of games (Quake, Quake 2, Quake III Arena).
The package contains gamepacks for the following games: Darkplaces, Nexuiz,
Quake, Quake2world, Warsow, Xonotic, OpenArena, Quake2, Quake III Arena, Q3MIN,
Tremulous and Wolfenstein:ET.
I have made a new build system that is capable of semi-automatically
configuring and installing gamepacks. Now it is almost trivial to build
and install the package. Configuring the build + install system involves
only very simple editing of a single config file. For those people who
are not comfortable with building a program from the source I have also
made prebuilt binary packages of LinRadiant for Linux and Windows. For
instructions on building and/or installing LinRadiant please, see the
following guide.
Finally, if you are interested in who I am and what might qualify me for
undertaking a project like this, please, see my (incomplete)
CV.
